Narrated by the unexpected voice of a charming and rebellious elephant comes the true and unforgettable story about a Super Tusker elephant Tolstoy who is addicted to tomatoes.
Tolstoy is one of approximately 24 Super Tuskers left on earth. At a time when human wildlife conflict has surpassed poaching as the largest growing threat to all African elephants, Tolstoy’s desire for tomatoes puts his life at urgent risk.
Living under Mt. Kilimanjaro in Kenya in a paradise his ancestors have roamed for thousands of years. Tolstoy’s life was perfect until recently when everything began changing and people and farms began cropping up everywhere. But, there is one thing he does like, “its taste is sweet yet tangy, we’re finding them everywhere, and we simply can’t stop eating them!”
“Once you’ve tasted the forbidden fruit, there’s no going back" Tolstoy
Mission Statement: This film intimately captures a portrait of change, exploring man’s ever-growing expansion into wilderness regions, the drastic impacts made to wildlife, and the urgent questions on how to adapt and share resources with our elephant neighbors.
